Aquí teneis mi esperadísimo (:D) resumen sobre el segundo artículo que comenté a los asistentes a la reunión del dia 01/06/2007.

Título: How Swarms Build Cognitive Maps

Abstract: Swarms of social insects construct trails and networks of regular traffic via a process of pheromone laying and following. These patterns constitute what is known in brain science as a cognitive map. The main difference lies in the fact that the insects write their spatial memories in the environment, while the mammalian cognitive map lies inside the brain. This analogy can be more than a poetic image, and can be further justified by a direct comparison with the neural processes associated with the construction of cognitive maps in the hippocampus. we investigate via analysis and numerical simulation the formation of trails and networks in a collection of insect-like agents. The agents interact in simple ways which are determined by experiments with real ants.

Services integration platform for public administration based in BPEL and ESB

Whoa! This is my first published paper with the GeNeura team! Well, this is my FIRST published paper in my whole life. It will be presented in the CEDI congress, in Zaragoza, Spain. I’m quite excited because I have to show it to an advanced audience, so I hope do it properly.

Here is the abstract in Spanish:

En este trabajo se presenta una plataforma para
la integración de servicios administrativos
utilizando una Arquitectura Orientada a Servicios
(SOA) y el lenguaje BPEL para orquestaci
ón. Actualmente la Administración Pública
está enfocando gran parte de su actividad
tecnológica a la integración de aplicaciones para
ahorrar costo y tiempo, por lo que se hace
necesario el estudio de una base sobre la que
integrar varios de estos servicios. Se muestra
el desarrollo de una plataforma sobre un ESB
(Enterprise Service Bus) centralizando el acceso,
la creación de servicios web de aplicaciones
existentes y la orquestación de los mismos junto
con el uso de un contenedor de portlets para
la presentación de contenidos.

And here my own English translation. Sorry about the mistakes, I have to improve my skills:

This work shows a platform for administrative services integration using a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and BPEL language for orchestration. Nowadays Public Administration are focusing its technologic activity to the application integration to reduce cost and time, so it is necesary to study a base to integrate some of those services. We show the develope of a platform over an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), centralizing the access, the creation of web services for existent applications and the orchestration of them, together with the use of a porlet container for the content presentation.
